What order should you apply complexion makeup?
As a makeup bag grows, it is easy to return to the same question: which product comes first? A useful starting point is to give each one a role. Think of primer as preparation, foundation as your overall complexion colour, concealer for selected areas and powder as an optional finishing touch.
The examples below follow the application information for Rose Candy products. You do not need every step each day. If you only want concealer in a small area, you can choose a shorter routine.
1. Apply primer as a thin preparation step
Make Up Primer is applied in a thin layer to cleansed skin, with makeup following once it has absorbed. Complete that step before moving to foundation. Follow the product directions for the amount rather than adding more at the start.
When trying a primer for the first time, keep the rest of your makeup familiar. Changing foundation, sponge and primer at once makes it harder to identify the difference you enjoy.
2. Start foundation with a small amount
Foundation 24H is applied in small amounts to clean, moisturised skin, working from the centre of the face outwards with a sponge, brush or fingertips. Look at the first layer before deciding whether to add product in a particular area.
Explore Ivory, Light and Medium within this range. A shade called Light in another product is not necessarily a match. Read the shade notes alongside the photographs and check the transition around the face and neck in your mirror.
3. Choose the concealer placement
Concealer is applied in small amounts to selected areas and blended with gentle pressing movements. Check your makeup after foundation: you may want to use concealer on a smaller area than you first planned.
This family includes Light, Medium and Dark. Compare foundation and concealer shades individually, even when their names overlap. Consider whether you want the area to sit close to the surrounding makeup colour or create a different emphasis.
4. Explore powder where you want it
Setting Powder can be applied lightly with a brush or sponge. Transparent is the colourless option and Pink is the pink shade. Check which one you have chosen, start with a small amount and look at the appearance before adding more.
You do not have to apply the same amount across the whole face. You might begin by assessing the centre, then decide whether to add powder elsewhere. For a shorter routine, a light application only in selected areas is also an option.

Pause between decisions
Even when you choose the longer flow, decide what you want to change before adding the next product. This gives each layer a purpose in the areas you have chosen.
